Dana & Kyle’s Private Island Wedding in Aruba: Flamingo-Free, Sun-Soaked & Full of Love
Planning a destination wedding in Aruba? Picture this: a private island, soft white sand, tropical flowers in full bloom, and the sound of waves gently crashing in the background. That was Dana and Kyle’s wedding day at the Renaissance Private Island Aruba, and honestly—it was a whole vibe.
From emotional first looks to sky-on-fire sunsets and barefoot beach moments with their kids, this was one of those weddings that makes you fall in love with love all over again. As their Aruba wedding photographer, I got to capture every laugh, tear, and flamingo cameo (don’t worry—we’ll get there).
Getting Ready: Sweet Chaos & Sentimental Details
The day kicked off with Kyle getting ready in his suite with their two sons. No tuxes. No ties. Just comfy beachy style and sweet moments of dad helping the boys get dressed—it was adorable and chaotic in the best way.
Next stop: Dana’s suite, where her mom helped her into her gown while Sanaloe worked her hair and makeup magic. (If you’re looking for glam that holds up in Aruba’s breeze, here’s his IG).
I photographed the delicate details: rings, vow box, florals, and of course, Dana’s calm-but-glowing energy. Spoiler alert: that glow stayed all day.

First Look on the Island: Emotions & Ocean Breeze
We hopped on the boat and headed to Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba’s Private Island—aka the dreamiest place to say “I do.” Dana and Kyle shared their first look under the palms with waves crashing in the distance. Emotional? Oh, absolutely. There were misty eyes. There was laughter. And there was that moment of whoa—we’re actually getting married today.
She also had a beautiful first look with her dad. If you’re on the fence about doing one—just do it. Trust me.

Ceremony: Bright Florals & Blended Families
Aruba Fairytales and Sharsh Aruba created the ultimate tropical setup—think vibrant pinks, oranges, and rose-colored florals, accented with lush greenery and wooden chairs with white cushions for the guests.
A violinist played as Dana walked down the aisle (yes, it was giving rom-com energy). The ceremony included a beautiful sand ritual where Dana and Kyle involved their three kids—a truly touching moment that had everyone reaching for tissues.

Photos with Flamingos (Finally) & Sunset Magic
After the ceremony, we snapped a big group photo and then took a few portraits with—you guessed it—the island’s famous flamingos. I swear, they know when there’s a wedding. They showed up right on cue for a few beachy, pink-feathered cameos.
We finished the portraits just in time for sunset, and let me tell you: the sky lit up. Think deep oranges, fiery pinks, and glowy purples. A true golden hour moment you can’t plan, but you can hope for.

Reception: Let’s Party
Back on the island, the reception space kept the same vibrant, romantic vibe with matching flowers, candlelight, and an atmosphere that felt like a dream.
DJ Ruuben Pro brought the energy—and the beats. Guests danced under the stars, toes in the sand, and cocktails in hand. It was equal parts emotional and fun, just how a beach wedding in Aruba should be.
