In this episode, you’re going to learn the 3 ways to promote your freebie on Instagram. You’re going to learn why is it so important to have a freebie, to begin with, and how to build your email list by using Instagram, and what are the different freebies that you can create, so you can generate more leads and make more sales.

What is a freebie/lead magnet/freemium?

It’s a free resource that you give your audience to help them with their journey with you.

The goal of a freebie is to add value to the content that you’re creating and build a stronger relationship with your audience.

While it might sound like something that’s free, there’s actually a catch. In order for someone to download your freebie, they need to give you their email address.

In fact, that’s the main goal, because later you can send them more emails and keep building that relationship… which later translates into a paying customer.

While I teach how to build a brand on social media, I honestly believe that you shouldn’t only put all your time and effort into growing your social accounts.

The problem with only focusing on growing your social media accounts is that one day the platform can disappear, or it goes down, and then you’re left with no followers / no clients.

Instead, I recommend at least start with one freebie and as you grow your business you can keep adding more to the list.

Where do we start? Start with identifying who are you targeting.

Who’s your ideal customer?

In module #2 of the IPB Program, we talk about identifying your ideal customer. This is the most important factor of your marketing and, honestly, your business.

If you’re not clear on whom you’re speaking to, your ideal customer would never know.

When you’re clear on your ideal customer, your audience will feel like you’re speaking directly to them. They start saying things like “Oh lord, it’s like you’re in my head!”

And that’s when you know, you’re nailing it

Once you’re clear on who you’re targeting, it’s time for content creation.

Create content that speaks to your ideal customer

It’s your job to create content that motivates, educate or entertain your audience.

Think about questions that your ideal customer might have around your industry and start creating content that answers those questions.

Your number one goal on social media should be relationship building. It’s all about creating that know, like, and trust factor – and this is done by creating content for your ideal customer.

Here’s another benefit: when you create educational content, you’ll be positioned as a leader in the mind of your consumer, this is how you build a strong relationship with your audience.

3 Ways to Promote Your Freebie on Instagram

Having a Link in Bio to Download

The easiest and obvious one is through the link in your bio. If you’re new to Instagram, you can add a link to your bio and send people to your website.

The downside of this is that you only get ONE link. However, I prefer having a page with different call-to-actions where people can choose what they want… for example; to download my freebie.

So one tool that you can use is LinkTree. This is a great tool to have variations of call-to-actions in your bio.

Story-telling on Instagram Story

If you don’t have over 10K followers, unfortunately, you don’t have the swipe-up feature.

However, what I like to do is create a series of different stories that talks about your freebie and direct people to the link in my bio.

What I also have been testing the last couple of weeks, is using a keyword as a call-to-action… which leads me to my third way to promote your freebie on Instagram is to send people to your DM.

Send people to your DM

As you’re creating content on Instagram, what has been also working tremendously for me is to say something like:

“DM me the word FBGROUP and I sell you the link the private community”

All people have to is send me a DM with one keyword and I know already what they want.

This is so powerful because you also get data on which content is resonating, who’s interested in your content, and you empower them to send you a direct message – which creates trust really fast.
