When your good friend calls you up two weeks before flying to Aruba and says:
“Steven, I’m proposing in Aruba… can you help me capture it?”
Of course, my answer was: YES!

That’s exactly how this beautiful Aruba beach proposal came to life.

Roberto, a friend I’ve known for over a decade, and his partner Vanessa flew in from Switzerland to attend a wedding here in Aruba and sneak in a little vacation time. What Vanessa didn’t know was that Roberto had big plans — and a sparkling ring tucked away in his suitcase.

Planning the Perfect Proposal on the Beach in Aruba

Roberto reached out to me just two weeks before their trip and shared his plan to propose during golden hour at Manchebo Beach, Aruba — one of the island’s most stunning spots for an Aruba proposal on the beach.

He was excited, nervous, and wanted to make sure it would all go smoothly. I helped him plan the timing and positioning so that the moment would unfold beautifully with the soft glow of the Aruba sunset in the background.

The Big Moment: A Magical Sunset Proposal at Manchebo Beach

Fast forward to May 18th, 2025 — the perfect day arrived.

I arrived early to scout the beach and set up the perfect angles. As Roberto and Vanessa enjoyed a casual walk along Manchebo Beach, I captured candid moments leading up to the moment.

When the sun hit that magical golden hour, Roberto took Vanessa’s hand, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. And YES — she said YES!

Their joy was contagious. They hugged, laughed, and danced right there on the beach — did I mention they are incredible salsa dancers? Their impromptu dance in the sand was one of my favorite parts of the entire shoot!
